is there a polite straight forward way to tell your parents your social media is for friends and not them and you’re under zero obligations to connect with them??? my parents are my parents, not my friends. i don’t want them knowing me on the level of friendship i project onto snapchat and quite frankly, even instagram at times. it makes me uncomfortable because i don’t get along with them and i don’t want them to fall into false pretenses that we do or that they know me just because i have a different friendly internet persona they don’t see in person
